LOOK WHAT I USED FOR A PLANT STAND

I did it again! I repurposed my garage sale find milk can into the cutest plant stand for the backyard. This metal can is a seasonal favorite at my house. And you know what? I am the only one in the family that loves this garage sale find!

MILK CAN TO PLANT STAND

This metal milk can has layers of paint but after so many years I went back to the original paint color when I found it in the yard at a garage sale.

METAL PLANT STAND WITH A MILK CAN

For the past few years I switched up my milk can for the different seasons like this for fall and these ideas.

My original plan was to put it in the front yard and paint it black to match the wrought iron railings and these planters.

But the front was looking a little crowded and I decided the window outside of the dining room would be a cozy little corner.

Last summer we added a bird bath and fresh mulch.

With a plan in place, I did the following:

  • Cleaned the surface of the milk can
  • Gave it a fresh coat of black paint
  • Added this vinyl to the front of the repurposed plant stand
  • Added a pot of petunias

I added a vinyl sign to the front of the can (vinyl works well on a metal surface. Stencils like this set I found on Amazon would work well too.

I love this quiet corner. When I look out our kitchen and dining room windows I can see the petunias now that they are elevated on the milkcan/ repurposed metal plant stand.
