WHAT I FOUND ON EBAY

And this week’s Tuesday tip is all about all about Ebay finds and the tips to find brand new (with tags) clothing and housewares.
And before you respond (like l my sister, when I told her I bought Athleta and Lululemon workout items), please stick around for the tips!
EBAY BUYING TIPS
A few years ago I was on the hunt for an all weather Patagonia jacket with a removable down insert.
I searched all the online retailers with no luck.
And then on a pre-dawn morning I decided to search Ebay.
And what to my wondering eyes should appear but a listing for a new WITH tags blaci Patagon all weather coat in my size.
My first thought was it was a a “phishing ad.
But a closer look at the listing description noted it was from a Northeast retailer clearing out inventory for the new season
.WIth timing and a little luck of the Irish it The Patagonia jacket was mine.
Seller paid for shipping.
Years later I still hwear it every winter.
And then life go tbusy and it just was easier to order online and get exactly what I wanted or get the off brand.
But I still like the brands like Lululemon, Athleta , Patagonia, Lands End and Pottery Barn.
After the holidays I had my eyes on a Pottery Barn king size set of king size navy sheets. The listing advertised “new with tags.”
The price was the same as what was on Pottery Barn. However, Pottery Barn no longer carried the navy blue sheets.
I really like navy.
So I waited and a few days later the seller added “make an offer” to her listing.
And I thought what listing agents (with seller’s permission) do when a listing grows stale (no showings).
. So I emailed the Ebay seller a no commitment offer and was surprised when it was accepted. Shipping was including.
I love the sheets as I work on updating our bedroom now that it no longer resembles a waiting room when our kids were young.

In the last few months, as I replenish my workout gea, r I purchased:

My sister found a Patagonia Kelly green in Vail a few years ago but it was not in her size.
She found it on eBa (new) y for less money.
So start your search this spring as retailers from around the country have to move the current season’s inventory.
Someone like me who does not like to eat her money (ask my giriends and my mom) Ebay fills a void for shoppers like me.
I know what brands I like, I know my size for those brands.
Who knew?
The key is to follow the sellers with great reviews.
Be mindful of shipping fees.
I have bought the occassional “dud,” but is usually ” on” me because I did not read the full description.

Also ebay is not just for clothing. I found a wine barrel op serving board on Ebay! I still have it and it is routinely seen on the blog on the kitchen counter or hiding under this plant!
