THE WEEKEND EDIT- CODE BREAKER

Happy Weekending! What plans do you have for the weekend?

My husband was at a concert at Red Rocks that started with a downpour and ended with a dead battery. They had a blast!

We have our grandpup here this weekend while his parents make a quick trip to Ohio to visit family.

Russell loves the Gramptons so much that he decided to start his morning at 2:30 a.m. on Friday to watch the sunrise.

My middle is likely rock climbing this morning. He always sends us photos after the climb.

TECH TROUBLE (again).

I spent 35 minutes on the phone with my bank trying to keep my windows open, receive the six-digit code, copy and paste it into beforeI was logged out of the app in the three seconds allotted to retrieve my password.

This is how I know the developers grew up watching Zach & Cody on Disney.

They need a fan base of Gilmore Girls to develop apps for those of us who need readers (Lasic only lasts for so long).

It reminded me of this Amazon conversation.

It did not help that the customer support guy let me know he was my age and could relate to my frustrations, and then he was telling me how to swipe up (slightly) to keep my screen open.

QUESTION: Is it just me juggling screens & passwords? Please share your stories!

READING, WATCHING & LOVING

  • We finished Friends & Neighbors with Jon Hamm. My husband & I said it is fun to laugh again.
  • Small business owners and comedy writers will allow us to laugh at funny stories and one-liners.

  1. We watched the new Four Seasons. I have to say I really love the old movie. This was ok. Might have to check out the Jon Hamm show. I could use a good laugh!!!😆 Thanks for sharing my cottage, Laura!

  2. Your bathroom looked pretty pre-renovation–make sure to post a photo of the post-renovation. Our bathroom could use an update, but I don’t want to deal with all the mess, so it will remain a 90s early 2000 bathroom…lol

We have another Richard Osman book scheduled for our June book club, called “We Solve Murders.” It was chosen by the same member who had us read two of his other books.

My granddaughters are getting older, so soon I’ll have to redecorate their “Sleep Over” bedroom in our house–it is hard to believe how quickly children outgrow things. I gave away a lot of my grandchildren’s toys to friends with new grandchildren. It’s very nostalgic to have to do all of that for a second time in life!

Enjoy your June company! June ia a birthday month for 3 of us!

    1. Hi Pat, yes the mess is a hassle. We made the decision to update now, enjoy it and then when we downsize it will have good bones for the next homeowner.
Loved you travel post from this weekend! xo laura

  3. I thought we were going to see the After reno project!
I am on Season 2 of Hacks! I love Jimmy, the talent agent…he’s so cute! The whole cast is hilarious! I agree-there are some scenes that don’t need to be included. Just allude to it-that’s enough.

  4. I’m with you…some books can seem so formulated that I find I know what’s going to happen before it does! I used to be in a book club. I loved it!
    Have a great weekend.

  5. That 4th of July floral/flag arrangement is so cute!
I need a good book, but I’m tired of fiction. I may go back and read the classics again.
They may be old, but they aren’t tired.
I’m going to have to go the JCO webiste now. Thank you very much.

    1. CALL ME I promise not to do laundry or take calls from evan ;0)

  6. You need to plan a trip to Alaska! That is so cool, my SIL’s dad & mom just did the trip and it was her dad’s last state to visit as well. I haven’t watched that show but I was thinking of checking it out but there are too many things to watch. I’m only part way through YOU’s last season, so I’m way behind. The birds do wake me sometimes before dawn. Crazy about the bears! We had a big graduation this past weekend (CG #1). Hope you had a great weekend1

  7. I am watching Friends & Neighbors and am enjoying it.
You was so crazy and the finale was just crazy.. not really a fan.
That is so cool about your husband.. does he have a favorite?

  8. No bucket list, but I’m impressed your husband has been to every state except Alaska. You definitely need to visit Alaska. I’ve been getting my flower beds in shape for the upcoming season.
    Karen B.

  9. Laura, 1. you have to go to Alaska. It is so beautiful and very special.
    2. Thank you for sharing my spray painted lamps. I love them. As soon as I can find the right color, I have another pair of glass lamps to paint.
    3. Children’s Medical is a wonderful hospital. My sorority alum group outfitted their pediatric cardio library years ago. If you come to visit your niece, you HAVE to visit me.

  10. I’m afraid to take pictures! Know it’s not good, especially since we cut the top of the living room shelves! Can’t wait to get the fireplace!

  11. Smother…😆!! That’s hysterical. I hadn’t heard that before, but I’m sure sometimes my girls would agree!!!

  12. tricia becker says:

Hmmm…maybe Debra From ELR minus MIL and kids?
IDK. You are Claire for sure!

  13. Neither.. my husband and I divide our chores in a way that I don’t have to do anything outside the house.
I would love a grapefruit mocktail.. I can sip it while I watch him work 🙂

  14. Our book club has been reading all of Richard Osman’s Murder Club books one by one–fun and light reading. This month was Kristen Hannah’s “The Women” — it was a little long and drawn out in my opinion–I liked the first half of the book–could have ended it there!

We haven’t begun outdoor clean-up as yet—we’ve been busy with grandkids’ sports, etc. We have a very large wood retaining wall behind us—there is no chance of passing fire mitigation because of that, plus a few large trees near our house I don’t have the heart to cut them down.

  15. Thank you so much for sharing my birthday story! I so appreciate you! Such a fun round up!
    Happy day!
    KariAnne
