HOW TO UPDATE YOUR SHOWER!

One of the benefits of showing homes is that I come home with a list of either “never do this” or “you must do this.” This shower tip was a game-changer for one of my sellers.

I loved it so much that I copied the look in our bathrooms.

It is similar to this storage idea when I stored a HomeGoods Christmas Tree in our lower-level tub/shower.

I don’t know what is funnier: that I stored a faux Christmas tree in the shower for almost a year, or that no one in my family asked why I had a Christmas tree in the shower!

Add a shower curtain.

Not the plastic one with water spots, but a fabric shower curtain with some weight.

The fabric’s weight makes the curtain look like a drape versus a Schitt’s Creek Hotel bathroom.

Even if no one in your family has used the tub in years, add a curtain.

TIPS

Add/Buy a neutral fabric curtain for the tub or 3/4 bath.
Buy a new curtain if you have Tuscany-inspired tile from 1992.
Look for a neutral fabric.
Navy or off-white are neutral shades that balance the gold-and-brown tile squares.
Add similar colors for hand towels.
