WEEKEND EDIT DENIAL
Happy Weekending! What are you up to this weekend?
We are babysitting our grandpup, Mister Russell (my nickname for him from Gilded Age) this morning. Russell is a 70-pound Bernese Mountain dog puppy with a sensitive stomach.

We only have to Keep Mr. Russell on his leash at the park ( Wash Park )until they return. What could go wrong?
I think I heard the word brunch in our brief conversation.
In other news, I am in flight mode after seeing a large snake in our backyard on Sunday. My daughter saw it happen and between her laughter, she pointed out I almost stepped on a second one
I know I have been in denial, for twenty years. I convinced myself that our dogs were deterrents.
It turns out our backyard offers amenities that include flagstone, rocks, sunshine, shade and a water feature. It’s like a concert venue for snakes.
I was so close to our first frost, which would give me peace of mind until April.
The only reason I bring this up is because I need your help!
QUESTION: Do any of you know of deterrents? I would Google deterrents but the sites include photos.
I even work this phobia into my buyer agency agreements. I always tell buyers I will show you a house unless I see a snake. I had this happen years ago when my buyers, knowing this about me, the husband gave me a heads up when he ran up the basement stairs to tell me the seller had pets. I love my buyers and sellers.
The lesson here is to know your limits.
So I ordered this rug for my home office to calm down.
Thank you Karen who explained to me the difference between fold and add. I immediately understood the difference when she wrote the word spatula.

READING, WATCHING + LOVING
- We finished the Perfect Couple. The episode count could have been cut in half. Did you see this week’s Tuesday Tip?
- I started Nobody Wants This on Netflix.
- I am reading A Happier Life. I don’t remember who suggested it but I like it.
- Just in case I have this on repeat: Hallmark’s streaming service.

I would love it if you subscribed to the Weekend Edit. You can sign up here for a Saturday morning easy-breezy newsletter. Thank you!

Nobody Wants This is a real delight. I put the movies with the immensely talented Kristen Bell on my ‘must watch’ list. She never disappoints. Plus she makes good career decisions.
Hi Laura,
Thanks for the mention. 😊💙🤍💙
One of my friends is so frightened of snakes she won’t watch movies or look at pictures when a snake is the subject. I understand.
The idea of Bentley deterring snakes made me laugh since he is a big scaredy cat. Amazon carries a product to deter snakes. Who knew?
Anyway, I’m sorry you showed me the cute trash bags. I can’t imagine what I’d do with them besides trash, but they are so darn cute.
Enjoy a snake-free weekend.
Karen B.
Two snakes at once?! In October, too! I would give money to see how high you leapt!!!
Ashley was laughing hysterically but was close on my heels heading into the kitchen.
