TRY THIS AMAZING GARMENT STEAMER HACK

This garment steamer hack is because I listened to my sister complain about her filthy windows. The window grit was exactly at the height of their three rescue pups!

They smoosh their cute faces to the window t to say hi to the Amazon delivery driver. She was having a hard time removing the unattractive window kisses. I told her about a steamer my girlfriends bought over the holidays. Thinking out loud, I casually asked if a handheld garment steamer would work.

My sister, who is used to my impulsive ideas and suggestions, said she would try it. We said our goodbyes and made plans to continue our conversation the next day.

Within 20 minutes I got a text from my sister that the handheld steamer (aka a wrinkle remover steamer) cleaned all the gunk and dirt off her windows and baseboards immediately. She planned to steam every baseboard in her Knoxville home.

GARMENT STEAMER HACK

Based on Tricia’s enthusiasm I decided to try out this clothing steamer tip.

TIPS

  1. This is a handheld electrical device that holds water.
  2. Read the instructions before operating (trust me).
  3. Locate the fill line level and the on/off switch.
  4. If you exceed the water level your steamer may have a heaving reaction similar to too much of the drink in college.
  5. Keep the steamer level. It is not designed to flip or twirl like a curling iron.

GARMENT STEAMER BENEFITS

  • HANDHELD
  • LIGHTWEIGHT
  • AFFORDABLE
  • SMALL ENOUGH TO FIT ON A SHELF, DRAWER, OR IN CABINET

My garment steamer does not have a brand on it but here is a similar one on Amazon.

FOLLOW-UP

I love this handheld steamer. Although the lightweight steamer is intended for clothes, the results on my baseboards were immediate. I decided not to show a visual of the dirt on the crevices of the cabinets and baseboards.

It was disgusting ( in a good way).

Also, I tried this tip on our bathroom cabinets (original to the house). I did use it on our remodeled kids’ bathrooms and once I got the groove of holding the steamer upright and moving it up and down and back and forth I wiped away so much gunk. I used paper towels but just ordered a stack of these dishcloths (in dark blue).
