HOMEGOODS ISLIKE THE PRICE IS RIGHT
Can we talk about HomeGoods? I have a love-hate relationship with this warehouse space stuffed with canvas prints of llamas, dog beds, and a ten-pack of ankle socks.
Most visits to HomeGoods are like spinning the wheel on The Price Is Right —you never know what you’ll bring home.

When I took this spending hiatus, I realized that if I’m not searching for a specific item, it’s better to stay home.
With that said, over the years, I have had some surprising finds. One of my favorite purchases was when I bought these upholstered chairs for our living room.

It was like winning a new car on The Price is Right.
FAVORITE FINDS AT HOMEGOODS
- THE SHELF-STABLE FOOD AISLE

tHE The foodie aisle. It is a treasure hunt for shelf-stable finds. If you have not explored the coffee section, this is the time to try it.

With coffee prices in the double digits, I love the overstock coffee brands from Brooklyn and Seattle. Here are a few things I keep my eye on in the foodie section.
LIST OF FOOD ITEMS
- coffee
- spices
- bubbly waters
- anything in a cute glass bottle.
- Preserves
- Olive Oil
2. THROW BLANKETS

I love the throws at Pottery Barn, but it’s hard to beat the selection and prices of a HomeGoods throw. This is how I ended up with these throws.
3. FURNITURE
My favorite chairs!

I bought these matching ottomans on clearance and reupholstered them with a hand-held staple gun from Home Depot.

4. EARRINGS
This was an unexpected find with my sister. I never thought to look for jewelry at Home Goods. But when I found a pair of small gold hoops for a fraction of what I buy at JCF, I was hooked.
I love jewelry, but after losing a diamond tennis bracelet and a pearl bracelet (twice), on a day filled with errands, including the produce aisle at Kroger, I stopped wearing my fancy jewelry while running errands (or dancing on a dance floor for a friend’s birthday).
.5. GLASSWARE
I love the glasses at HomeGoods. I have an assortment of glasses from Crate & Barrel, but nothing beats a six-pack of iced tea glasses for under $9.00 (versus $ 9 per glass).
The only issue is finding an identical set.
That is when I am digging through the barware aisle like I did the day I searched the produce bins for my tennis bracelet
6. TOWELS BUT NOT SHEETS
I love the fluffy towels at HomeGoods. The trick is to find entire sets for guests. I stopped buying sheet sets at HomeGoods because they always felt like they had been sprayed with a glue adhesive- a starchy texture that never softened.
I do splurge on sheets from Pottery Barn. And they last forever!
My sister loves the sheets at Garnet Hill. Where do you shop for bedding?
7. FRAMES
I used to buy my frames at Hobby Lobby or Michaels, but I could never find three of the same size and style. I’ve had good luck finding frames at HomeGoods.
8. WHITE CERAMIC SERVING PIECES
I love the simplicity of white ceramic dishes and serving pieces. I cannot resist ramekins or cereal bowls.

What a classic and beautiful wedding portrait. They look so happy! Your trip to NYC sounded awesome. I like that Christmas bingo game and the baked brie looks yum! I haven’t had that in years. I love Smartless but only listen sporadically like when we’re on a long car ride. We always enjoy them. Did you see the holiday episode of Murderville on Netflix–they are all on it and it’s a good one!
I love Home Goods! I get too tempted by all the stuff they have so I try not to shop there too often as I don’t need “more stuff” …lol I always look at their food offerings though, and yes, it’s sad that they are one time only offerings most of the time.
When I lived in NY I often went to TV talk show filmings, so I did meet many personalities that way. Martha Stewart was really nice, as was Barbara Walters.
I have yet to put up our Christmas tree or send out Christmas cards or do anything holiday!!! Ack…so behind!
I get it with Home Goods but I still love it.
I love brie too and make a few delicious baked brie recipes
Same! Happy Day Cindy! xo laura
