The Weekend Edit + Today Show

February 29, 2020

Guten Tag!

It is March Eve/March and the sun is shining in Colorado. Maybe it’s the extra day on the calendar that the weekend edit filled with a few more opinions.

I hope some of this snow melts the glacier in our backyard. It reminds me of this funny title I created for this post I wrote this time last year.

Binge Session

My husband and I wrapped up a marathon of binge-watching sessions in January and February. We loved the Pharmacist. The first episode is a little slow, but it picked up in the second episode. I loved the Crown and realized how much I love a great PG-13, family-friendly plots.

Here is My Why

We watched Season 1 & 2 of The Sinner. Season 1 with Jessica Biel was just weird. It’s hard to imagine Mary from 7th Heaven had such a dark side. I wonder if she tapped into some unresolved rage with her husband. And, the plot just went off the rails. But for some reason, we watched Season 2 (better than Season 1). The only reason I found this show is I saw Matt Bomer was in it.

We are watching Season 3 of The Sinner because of Matt Bomer. And, it is annoyingly addictive and gritty. I am done after I find out what happens to Matt.

Today Show: I got in a 45-minute workout while watching the Today Show on Friday. The broadcast started with eleven, commercial-free minutes of the Coronavirus and fears of community spread. All of this covered by the entire Today Show morning crew in Walt Disney World. Anyone?

Favorite Commercials

By the end of winter, I know most of the lines to a few favorite commercials.

Like the couple who laments the fact, their friends have turned into their parents. Do you know that commercial? I included it below.

True story: We were out with our daughter and her friends last weekend at this trendy Denver restaurant. My husband glances thru the menu and asked …

“What are tapas?”

I thought of this commercial. Our daughter ordered for her dad.

I can’t get him too much grief because this is the man who drove his three-year-old daughter home to go to the bathroom because she was terrified of the automatic flush toilets at Red Robin.

With all the talk of the Corona Virus this is the virus that terrifies me the most:

With the Coronavirus in the news, it was timely that I shared these household items we forget to clean.

Finds for You

Cindy shared some great places to find olive trees and/or branches. Hey, if you can’t get to Tuscany these days at least you can buy an olive tree and stick it in your kitchen window.

Heather shared her favorite vegan finds at Trader Joe’s.

Here is a makeup organizer giveaway. If you are interested in participating in future giveaways with Katherine please reach out to her here.

I shared these sugar cookies that taste like cake. I am on the fence with the recipe.

Looking for something different to give up for Lent how about this list of ideas?

Finally, this is my new favorite place to find sweaters.

Thank you for the shout out! I am watching The Sinner, season 3 also. I just started it. I love Matt Bomer and Chris Messina! I liked season 1 better than season 2. I never watched 7th Heaven so I guess it was easier for me to take Jessica Biel as that character. I know that commercial and I’m always explaining things to my hubs! I hope you had a great weekend!
