SEPTEMBER STING

HAPPY WEEKENDING

I started the week with a first –

no not a perfectly baked cake,

or a recipe with no substitutions…

no lottery win…

…. a bee sting – three bee stings.

The good news is I am not allergic to bees!

But because I lived a bee-free life for five decades, it took me three stings before I realized what was happening.

And do you know where the bees set up base camp?

In my favorite garage sale find.

In other news I have a floater in one eye. I got them after Lasic, and the good news is they either move out of the line of sight (or is it sight) or the brain learns to ignore them.

But he is not that kind of surgeon.

Moving along…

My ( our) daughter spent last weekend with her younger brother, who is living his best life in NYC. He sent this text to the family on his day at the US OPEN.

If you are a reader at the Weekend Edit, you know I occasionally share a family group text. This was my (our) youngest son’s response to a family text chat. Not to worry; he only takes public transportation or an Uber if his sister is paying.

The texts are a reminder to do this when you need or want conversation starters over the holidays. You can read about funny conversation starters here.

READING, WATCHING + LOVING

  • Did you see this week’s Tuesday Tip?
  • Was it helpful? Please share what you would like to see on Tuesday’s Tips..
  • I love this shelf liner and yes you will use 20 feet.
  • Here is a list of classic fall movies.
  • My husband and I watched The Big Chill (great soundtrack) and Diner. With nothing fun to watch, we decided to pick a few classics. Rod said no to Pretty in Pink. I think Rod/husband needs a nickname for the blog- he didn’t like “my suggestion of first husband.”
  • I just got these for my walks. It takes a day or two to get used to the weights on my wrists, but I liked them because my hands are free to talk on my phone while walking (or listening to podcasts).

BONUS QUESTION: What is your favorite movie of all time?

Check out what you missed…

This is what is happening on the blog ….

  1. Funny girl. Sorry you have bee stings. I’ve only had one – years ago I stepped on a bee and it hurt like all get out. U.S. Open is on our bucket list. Pulling for Taylor tomorrow. I think I bought that same drying board and I didn’t like it either. Kept thinking it was a cutting board. It’s been under the sink for weeks. Except at Christmas when I wear red nail polish, I always get an American manicure and put color on my toes. I have so many favorite books and movies. OK, that’s enough info. I’m not as funny as you are.
