THE WEEKEND EDIT RUN RUN RUDOLPH

Happy Weekending. If I did the math correctly, and this is a big IF, we have four more sleeps until Christmas. I am running around like Rudolph except my red nose is from the warm weather and sunny skies.

We have a full house with our daughter, boys, and our favorite son-in-law.

Elliott, our Berner puppy, is sharing his digs with our grandpup, Russell. Affectionately referred to as Mr. Russell. Russell must be excited for Santa because he has not slept past 4 am with a visit to the yard to check for Santa.

My three adult children are snug in their beds at my house this weekend. Several years ago, I bought Christmas sheets for the bedrooms. It was an extravagant impulse buy after our school community was rocked by a tragedy.

I decided life was too precious and short not to have Christmas bedding.

We all have our own “why.”

QUESTION: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS COOKIE?

READING, WATCHING + LOVING

  • I am enjoying the novel Go As a River1. The story takes place in Colorado.
  • We are watching No Good Deed. Let me know your thoughts! It stars Ray Romano and Lisa Kudrow. I hear a lot of Phoebe in the character, and I don’t like to hear Raymond swearing.
  • His mother, Marie Barone, would be disappointed with his potty mouth.
  • Did you see this week’s Tuesday Tip? I updated it with some of your responses!
  • Last week, my blog friend Heather shared her recent trip to NYC. I had a friend reach out to me about suggestions for a quick trip to NYC.
  • She loved Hena’s NYC trip recommendations.

Total aside: I am humbled when friends mention my blog in the most random moments and conversations. So I love it when I can share helpful ideas or other bloggers you may enjoy!

Toilet Trouble

I ran to the mall on Friday to do some last-minute shopping. It took me rour minutes to figure out how to flush the toilet in the women’s bathroom at Park Meadows. At one point, I was waving my hand around to hit a sensor.

Seriously? What happened to the Delta toilet lever?

Please tell me I am not the only one who has experienced this insanity in a women’s bathroom. For the record, it was a push, not a press lever.

  1. I made some of those Ritz treats this week! Thank you so much for the shout out on my NYC post. I’m so happy you’ve got all of your kids at home and snuggled into their Christmas sheets!
    Merry Christmas to you all!

  2. My favorite Christmas cookie goes by different names. Snowball, Wedding cookie, and Russian Rock. Anyway, I rarely make them for myself but love to receive them. That is the heighth of laziness, right? We don’t get snow here but Bentley seems to love the cold. Haha.
Happy Christmas to you and your family.
