THE WEEKEND EDIT OCTOBER 14TH

THE WEEKEND EDIT

Thank you for sharing four minutes of your Saturday morning with me!

If you know someone who has four minutes please sign them up for the Weekend Edit (with their permission)!

I am looking out my office window and it looks like corn is growing next to the house.

My guess is I am staring at a weed.

  1.  I shared this Tuesday’s tip on the blog. It is a repurpose tip!
  2. My quest to grow pumpkins in Colorado continues for 2024 pumpkin goals.
  3. . If you have pumpkin tips for the Colorado climate please email me!
  4. We have reinstated a puppy gate for our older Berner Chloe. I am about to pull up the carpet on the upper landing.

OH YES I DID

7. learned never to attempt my way through a football conversation. I should have kept my mouth shut, but when a friend’s husband mentioned how cool it was that Max Johnson, a Texas A&M player, made a touchdown pass to his brother, I turned to Clint and asked

…wait for it …

I asked if his brother caught the football.

QUESTION

What is a question you asked that you now cringe when you retell it- because those questions are either funny or awkward?

READY?

WATCHING + READING + LOVING THIS WEEK

Check out how I created a groovy coffee bar vibe … it’s a fun idea for someone who is short on space or wants to create a fun no-tool homework station for kids or the grans.

These motion sensor lights above are a favorite for dark hallways, steps, closets, and the scary under the kitchen sink cabinet. No tools needed.

HAPPY WEEKENDING TO YOU! I LOVE TO READ YOUR STORIES AND COMMENTS

  1. Texas A&M parent here. (Daughter and SIL class of ‘04 + niece, cousins, step-father, etc.)
That is hysterical. To even the “score”, ask him what the current mortgage rate is for 15 and 30 year fixed. Also, say “Gig ‘em” and “Whoop”! 😀

    1. That’s funny Terry! Thank you for stopping by!

  2. Our son lives in Arvada and grew a wonderful assortment of pumpkins a few years ago in the raised beds he built in his backyard garden. They grew very long vines that shot out of his triangular raised beds and filled up his backyard, so if you do attempt this be aware pumpkin vines take up a lot of room! Since then he switched to growing heirloom tomatoes and assorted hot peppers every summer. He really has a green thumb!

    1. Thanks Pat! I have read your posts about your son’s green thumb! It is a skill!!!!

  3. Haha. I can imagine saying something like that myself! Still, it was an innocent question. Men can be so sensitive where their favorite teams are concerned. 😉
I love the info about oil-based sharpies. I didn’t know Sharpie made that, that could come in handy somewhere in the future.
    Have a great Sunday.

  4. Silly questions? Oh gosh, too many to count over the years, haha!! We tried to grow pumpkins last year and they took over my yard! We had to scrap the project rather than have the vines enter the pool!! We said we’d try again this year…older and wiser…but we forgot. I guess that goes along with the “older” part! Maybe next year! Speaking of pumpkins, thanks for sharing my list of crafts. You are the best!! Have a super week!!
