THE WEEKEND EDIT NOVEMBER 11th

Good morning! Thank you for joining me for the Weekend Edit. I have a mug of a Folgers and Dunkin Donuts coffee blend. What’s in your mug?
Please take a moment to remember the veterans and their families who serve every day across the globe. Did you know Home Depot and Kroger sell Made in the USA flags and many include the kit to attach to a front porch or deck?
All of the 109 national park entrance fees will be waived today.
BIG THANKSGIVING DECISION
We made a big decision at our house this week- like big like something we have never done in the history of our collective lives … Sunday night we made the decision to …
go to New York City for Thanksgiving with our youngest (this one). We are spending a few nights near Central Park and we have tickets to this off-Broadway show.

THE WEEKEND EDIT – November 11th
QUESTION
When do you put up outdoor lights? We tend to wait until the coldest day with the windchill hovering around ten degrees to haul out the bins. Maybe this weekend …
Let’s go!

Hi Laura
As you saw on my blog, I’ve been away on a fabulous tour of Ireland and Scotland. Then I had to deal with jet lag and laryngitis when I came home.. Travel while old is not easy….lol
We usually try to get our Christmas lights up right after Thanksgiving as I host the dinner at my home every year and try to keep my house looking autumn-ish until after that holiday. We always hope there will be a 60-degree day to get it all done. This year our celebration will be a bit smaller as my son is going to spend it with his family at his in-laws in AZ., so it will only be my daughter, son-in-law, and oldest granddaughter. I’m still on a low-carb way of life so they’ll have to take home most of the yummy leftovers while I keep the Brussel sprouts and string beans 😉
I love string beans! Just emailed you Pat! I get it with the grownup kids being away. I did not realize both of your “kids” are here in CO.
I temporarily have all three in the state and loving it! xo laura
I really wish we could leave the clocks alone and just let the daylight happen when it is Standard Time. I was worried about Bentley being confused about the time change, but he seems to have adjusted. If you count that he wakes me up at 4:30 AM every morning, then, maybe not as adjusted as I’d like. Haha.

That’s so exciting about NYC. Aren’t last minute trips the best?! That show looks so fun. You guys will have a blast! I saw Josh and Andrew on Watch What Happens Live and I love their friendship chemistry. I hope you had a great weekend and are off to a great week!
