THE WEEKEND EDIT MAY DAYS
Happy Weekend!
Sunny skies this weekend in Colorado.
This weekend we have a neighborhood fire mitigation deadline to clear and haul the overgrown scrub oak and dead branches from our yards.
It turns out I have seasonal yardwork disorder.
It started in high school.
I think it was my dad’s subtle way to get us outside after a Friday Night Lights episode scenario.
My husband, on the other hand, is practicing his Luke Skywalker moves today.
My husband borrowed a friend’s power saw to cut down branches like Luke Skywalker during the Galactic Civil War.
Unfortunately, the chain saw saber—laser did not shred the branches. Instead, he has to go old-school and haul them out of our backyard, down the side of the house, continue across the driveway, and drop them on the opposite side of the street for pickup.

QUESTION: YARD WORK OR GARAGE CLEANUP?

Neither.. my husband and I divide our chores in a way that I don’t have to do anything outside the house.
I would love a grapefruit mocktail.. I can sip it while I watch him work 🙂
I get it and yes that is perfect!
Our book club has been reading all of Richard Osman’s Murder Club books one by one–fun and light reading. This month was Kristen Hannah’s “The Women” — it was a little long and drawn out in my opinion–I liked the first half of the book–could have ended it there!
We haven’t begun outdoor clean-up as yet—we’ve been busy with grandkids’ sports, etc. We have a very large wood retaining wall behind us—there is no chance of passing fire mitigation because of that, plus a few large trees near our house I don’t have the heart to cut them down.
Thank you so much for sharing my birthday story! I so appreciate you! Such a fun round up!
Happy day!
