Happy Saturday After a week with my kids home for Thanksgiving, I spent just as many days doing laundry.
After watching the Elton John Goodbye Tour on Disney plus I want to take piano lessons (again). If I had learned how to play Crocodile Rock I may have kept up with my piano lessons.
Instead, my final performance was Nadia’s Theme (aka the theme song from The Young and the Restless).
I made it until 9 am on black Friday before I caved and ordered this duvet cover.

The Tartan plaid duvet cover arrived this week and I spent 25 minutes wrestling the down comforter into the duvet cover. I forgot how hard it is to keep the down comforter in place ( I checked and didn’t see the ties in the corners).
Any suggestions on how to keep the comforter from shifting if there are no loops and ties?
WATCHING + READING + FINDS
- I finished Bad Sisters. It begins with the sisters attending one of their brother-in-law’s funerals. It is a comedy with an Irish cast. I used closed captioning to keep up with the dialogue. I love it! The youngest sister is Bono’s daughter (from my favorite band-U2).
- Last week I shared this blanket I ordered at Society6. I suggest you save your money and find something similar at Homegoods.
- I made this taco & tortellini soup the other night. So yummy! I used ground chicken.
- Have you purchased the rotisserie chicken at Costco? Here are 47 recipes.
- Here is a cute winter throw for less than 1/2 the price of the one I ordered.
- What are your plans for the weekend? If you have any duvet comforter suggestions please leave them in the comments or email me here.

Hi Laura,
Countdown to Christmas, yay! On the comforter issue, I tired of the fight to insert the comforter after washing a few years ago, and use the duvet by itself, without the comforter inside. It works for me because my duvet was a pretty substantial weight fabric. I love the plaid you selected!
I had to laugh at your story about piano lessons. I didn’t last a full year in the lessons I begged for due to the fact that the pieces my instructor had me practice, weren’t very inspiring to my musical interests! Haha.

These are the clips I use for holding the comforter in place from amazon:

Kohl’s carries the very best Cuddle Duds throws ever! They come in three varieties each with multiple color/pattern choices. Plus, during the holiday season, they are featured sale items. GREAT throws at GREAT prices. Cannot be beat.

You would think that Pottery Barn would include ties…you pay enough. I stopped using duvets! They are a pain to stuff, and they shift and end up either bunched up at the bottom or top of the bed. It’s really cute though!
I want to finish Bad Sisters! Instead, I’m doing a rewatch of Designing Women. Some of these 80s sitcoms hold up, but thankfully, some things don’t. Poor Anthony and Suzanne.
