Happy Weekending! What are your plans for the weekend? We have a wedding venue visit and tasting with our daughter and future son-in-law. I need to start thinking about a dress. I regret the chocolate chip cookies I made the other night.

I made a batch of tomato soup on Sunday. I found the recipe here.

I started Very Valentine by Adriana Trigiani I was all in at the third sentence: I am the funny one.

This sentence was the only one I needed to know that I was going to love the book. I think this is why I love quotes because quotes pack so many emotions and reactions into a dozen words linked together.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LINE/SENTENCE/WORD?

Thank you for your feedback on the new blog. I am working on the highlighter function for the shared links. It is a work in progress (like all of us).

WATCHING + READING + LISTENING

I have the following books on hold via the Libby library app. . Just make sure to have your library card in hand to make the sign-up easier or you can go to your local library for assistance. And it’s free with taxes!

  • A Quiet Life
  • Big Stone Gap
  • The Second Mrs. Astor
  • Elizabeth the First Wife
  • The Last Thing He Told Me

WATCHING

I am on the fence with the prequel 1883 to Yellowstone. The dialogue does not match the time period and the narrator’s voice feels like she has marbles in her mouth as she narrates the storyline. With that said we continue to watch it because Harrison Ford is in the next one.

I cleaned up my favorite closet organizer after the holidays. I have one in my entry closet and one behind the door in the laundry room.

SHOP NOTES:
I love lightweight bags for quick trips. I stash them in my purse and use for produce.
I have a similar phone stand, but this one allows you to adjust the height.
I use it for my Pinterest recipes and work. And the gingham napkins are a seasonal favorite!

  1. Laura-I know why you like that quote…it’s you. Is she comparing herself to her sister? That’s what I’m guessing. Remember the Gail and Oprah roadtrip special? Same idea.

I like the yellow highlighting!! I go to your clothing suggestions asap and this will help…where are they this week?

I saw your cart with the hooks attached. Did yours come with those? I love it.

    Have fun at the tasting!

  2. Hi Laura,
My favorite quote is a quote from Jane Austin, Sense and Sensibility. “Know your own happiness. You want nothing but patience—or give it a more fascinating name: call it hope.”
I didn’t care for 1883 but 1923 is fabulous, even though it’s a little violent. Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren can do no wrong in my book.
    Have a great weekend.

  3. While I did not like Yellowstone (too many awful people) I too am currently watching 1883 and it just makes me so thankful for being in the century I was born in. Life was a whole different kind of hard back then.
