Happy Weekending! Busy week with continuing ed classes. The attorney who taught the class was entertaining and filled with real estate scenarios that play out like a Criminal Minds episode for real estate transactions.

In other big news, between continuing ed and bingeing the Police Off the Cuff podcast (my daughter recommended it). The hosts are retired NYC police officers discussing recent cases in the news. Fascinating.

Everyday Edits had a makeover. Please be patient as I figure out this new theme. Some links may not work and my about page is empty. I plan to add monthly real estate tips (but they work for those of us enjoying our low-interest rate). I plan to stretch my writing skills in 2023. This is no easy task if you have been trapped in my run-on sentences.

DID YOU SEE HGTV’S DREAM HOME GIVEAWAY? It’s in Colorado. Get all the details from my friend Juliet here. Lots of pics! Let me know your thoughts!

WATCHING + READING + LISTENING

  • Listening to Police Off the Cuff Podcast. Retured NYC cops review current crimes.
  • For lighter fare, I am reading Very Valentine by Adriana Trigiani. It’s described as Sex in the City meets Moonstruck. Remember that movie?
  • But love this sweater and got so many compliments. Loft has a huge sale this weekend!
  • Black Bird on Apple TV. Gritty and based on a true story. It’s not for everyone.
  • I returned this sweater when I decided it would look better on my five-year-old niece.

I love this sweater for this time of year.

  1. Laura,
Your new site design is very pretty. I love the peonies(?) at the top. I really like the sweater you shared and was bummed that it is only available in L and XL. I guess I really don’t need one more sweater. 😊
Your class for RE sounds like it’s interesting and nice that the teacher makes it so. Sometimes classes like that can be dull as dirt. Haha.
    Have a great week.

I love the background, Laura! I know you have loved working on this update, and it looks great!

  3. Your new blog design is very nice, Laura! I would just request that the links be a darker color if possible–they are very light colors and hard to see with my old eyes. Being old reminds me that I looked up Bab’s on Instagram and I agree, she is a hoot! What a fun personality she has. Did you get her cookbook for Christmas as you had hoped?

I have not updated my blog design in ages–I am definitely overdue for an update but find my time and patience are limited. I am also “cheap”…lol…and don’t want to pay to blog so I use Blogspot. It has served me well the past 15 years I’ve blogged–hard to believe it has been that long!

Your real estate class sounds interesting as does that podcast. One of my nephews was a detective in the NYV Special Victims Unit. It was a job that really pulled on his heartstrings. He ended up retiring early after a serious injury he sustained pursuing a perpetrator.

I love sweaters–will have to check out the ones you recommend! Have a good week!
