THE SIMPLE REASON YOU NEED A PLANT
Okay so some of you might be shaking your heads that the last thing you need is a plant.
But today’s tip is to add a plant to your apartment, dorm, your parent’s basement or your kitchen. Here is the why!
Plants hold us accountable to water them regularly.

This tip comes from the wisdom I gave to my adulting kids as they transitioned to living independently.
One son has three roommates and his window view is a brick wall. Maybe a catcus for him!
My middle son lives alone. He routinely quotes my quotes because my quotes often sound like a word salad.

Buy a plant!
This is the genius advice I gave my kids. One of my best quotes my middle likes to quote is ” everyone needs one living thing in their space( not including humans or pets. Those are bonuses!
My son paid it forward and gave me a plant for Christmas. It was cheaper to hide util Christmas morning than a puppy!
I love to see my plant thriving in the window with views and sunshine.
I emailed him proof of life photos in January.
REASONS TO OWN A PLANT
- It is easier to take care of a plant than a sour dough starter.
- Plants come in all shapes and sizes
- No phone or device needed.
- Unless you need a plant moisture detector
If your space, apartment, rental, home feels like it needs a little something- start with a house plant! Worry about travel plans? There are tips and tricks to water plants while you are away.
I like ice cubes and a DIY slow drip with an empty 2-liter frozen bottle.
Give a friend a plant instead of a bottle of wine.
The plant lasts longer and you are more likely to remember who gave you a plant than the bottles of Cabernets that show ed up at the party.

I always knew I liked you and that we could be friends……..even though you are in CO and I am in SD. My sister lives in CO…..so that can count for something, too. BUT yes to plants! I even say a plant in EVERY ROOM! OMG, I know! But yes, please! They just make me happy! Happier than some people make me. oops
