CHECK OUT THIS EASY PATRIOTIC TABLESCAPE

June 16, 2021

Sharing a thrifty, simple patriotic tablescape.

Can you believe it? We are sliding into July!

One of my close friends has a similar floor plan as us. So it’s always fun to go to each other’s homes to see how we decorate. Last summer when Du mentioned she decorates for the entire summer with red, white and blue. patriotic-tablescape-everydayedits So that’s what I did this year and I shared my patriotic ideas here and here. patriotic

My patriotic tablescape is front and center on my dining room table.

HOW TO MAKE AN EASY PATRIOTIC TABLESCAPE

I love to use items I have on hand. A few items for this tablescape were from previous upcycle projects. Oh, wait I did buy the small sign from the dollar-ish section at Target.

I love to contain a tablescape to a tray. I pulled out my oversized galvanized serving tray as the base for my patriotic tablescape. My goal was to add pops of reds and blues against the green wreath.  patriotic-tablescape-everydayedits

I used my stash of these boxes for shades of blue. The popular retail box supports the sign and makes the sign stand out.

The blue hue continued with a single cloth gingham napkin that I tucked inside a recycled glass jar.

I was stumped for red and white colors that were not covered with hearts intended for Valentine’s Day. I wanted something that would fit within the tray. As luck would have it I found a Christmas strand of wood bead garlands I purchased from my friend Katherine’s shop. I bought it after the holidays and never stored it with the Christmas decorations. It was just waiting for the 4th of July.

The beaded garland with red fabric ties was the perfect addition to the tray.

What is that type of fabric called? All I can think of are the bonnets in Little House on the Prairie.

I found a white, wood monogram with red polka dots. It was from my “monogram everything” phase. Again, the red and white scrolled letter added height and a bit of whimsy to the tablescape.

EASY PATRIOTIC DECOR IDEAS

May 18, 2021

sharing easy patriotic decor ideas for the summer

Hi everyone, this year feels like it is flying. I mean it is almost the trifecta for patriotic holidays with Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day in a matter of months. These easy patriotic decor ideas came from my neighbor, Du.

Duanna doesn’t just decorate for the 4th she begins in May and celebrates the entire summer.

EASY PATRIOTIC DECOR IDEAS

I loved this idea for so many reasons I decided to create patriotic decor ideas for the summer.

Last year I bought these blue and white gingham cloth napkins. I love them and use them for multiple holidays but they were a little pricier for a napkin.

So I bought these in navy and white and love them. They are larger, heavier and cheaper.

Perfect for bbq and s’mores. I found these galvanized napkin rings for a little more than a coffee beverage. I ordered a dozen.

Love them!

Okay, I splurged on these plates for a gift for me on Valentine’s Day. Well, now they have them in their patriotic collection.

Tip: If they are holiday plates I order them in the salad size and stack them on my everyday dishes.

I created this patriotic theme tray in minutes. The challenge? Decorate with anything red, white and/or blue. Done.

A few years ago I ordered a scrolled monogram here and use it around the house for “red” holidays. ;0)

The morning of every holiday in between baking or eating I get online for a few minutes and shop the clearance/sale section of my favorite home stores. I picked these enamel plates up last year after Labor Day. I wrapped them and placed them under the Christmas tree.

If you want to get crafty, check out what I did when I couldn’t find navy plates.

My mom buys me new dish towels every year when I host a holiday dinner. She turned me onto these and I love them.
