3M Fabric Protector

If you have dogs who like to lounge on the furniture you need this one.

Our Bernese Mountain 2 1/2-year-old puppy rescue loves this chaise. I love this 3M product. I use another favorite Made in the USA to spot clean other dog messes.

CRATE AND BARREL CHAISE

Method Products

I have used Method products for years so I was thrilled to see the Made in USA on the label.

SOS Scouring Pads

My mom had this familiar box of steel wool pads under the kitchen sink. It’s my go-to for tough grime.

CASTILE SOAP

I found this soap at Homegoods of all places. I love the Peppermint scent. Now, I see it everywhere. I love it so much I shared how I use it in my home. I just don’t know how to pronounce it as you may have heard in the video.

This is a new one for me and I don’t know how to pronounce it. I found it at Sprouts. I love to use this for the kitchen sink for deep cleaning.

Here’s this week’s Made in USA Mondays video on my Youtube channel.

MADE IN USA MONDAY CLEANING SUPPLIES

August 16, 2021

On this week’s Made in USA Monday series, I am sharing cleaning supplies.

Hello and welcome to Made in USA Mondays! I love to support and talk about favorite USA-made finds. It is just one of many things I am passionate about here on Everyday Edits.

If you are new here you can check out a recent post about my favorite made in USA skillet.

This week is all about cleaning supplies. This time of year when I like to double down on my cleaning efforts as we spend more time inside.

MADE IN THE USA CLEANING SUPPLIES

Today I am sharing two made in USA cleaning-related products. I found both on Amazon. When searching for USA-made brands and products I include that in my online search.

If you are a regular here at Everyday Edits you know I love to reuse empty containers. Spray bottles are a favorite of mine to repurpose. But, over time the spray nozzle breaks.

Yes, I even switch spray nozzles, but I decided it was time to invest in a few new spray bottles and found these on Amazon. They are manufactured by Supply Maid.

These are great if you buy your cleaning products in bulk or if you like to create your own cleaning solutions.

I love the size of these because they are not so huge that they don’t fit in my cleaning supply entry closet.

Next up I needed a new set of everyday dishtowels. I love these 12×12 squares because they are great for counters and appliances. I can tuck these under the sink and they are easy to toss into the wash after a busy week of cleaning. They are made by OHSAY USA.

I forgot to mention in my video they are a veteran-owned company!

MADE IN THE USA MONDAY LODGE BLACKLOCK CAST-IRON SKILLET

July 26, 2021

Welcome to my Made in the USA Monday series where today I share a cast-iron skillet made in Tennessee.

Thank you for all of your comments about my new Made in the USA Monday series. If you missed the first one you can watch it on my Youtube Channel here.

Today I am sharing a cast iron skillet that is made down in Pittsburg, Tennessee. You can read more about this 120+-year-old company here.

MADE IN USA CAST-IRON SKILLET

I found (I mean Santa found)  my Lodge Blacklock cast iron skillet at Williams-Sonoma. Santa found them at Walmart too.

What I love about this skillet is the weight. It requires a two-handed grip to use and I love that. It’s similar to how I felt when I shared my last Made in the USA find.

There is something about a cast-iron skillet. It’s rustic. I imagine Rip using a cast-iron skillet in Yellowstone.

I called it rusticticity.

Santa brought me this one last Christmas and he brought our three college-age kids the smaller ones. I love it for this skillet breakfast recipe.

We love both sizes depending on the menu.

I love the smaller skillet for a chocolate chip cookie for two or for this Brussel sprout recipe.

There is something special about buying something in our country-supporting local communities and jobs. Yes, I likely pay a little bit more, but I think that makes me reach for this skillet over other skillets.

I made a short video sharing this week’s feature for Made in the USA Monday.

You can watch my first Made in USA Monday feature on my Youtube channel.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! If you have a favorite Made in the USA brand or product I am happy to share it on my blog. I regularly share my favorite USA brands or how to find USA products.

I would love for you to subscribe to my weekly newsletter where I share one-hour projects, real estate tips, and seasonal projects. Please sign up your mom, brother, girlfriend or sister if you think she would like these topics (ask permission).

MADE IN USA MONDAY AMERICAN GARDENWORKS

July 12, 2021

Sharing a new series, Made in USA Mondays, with an American Gardenworks find.

Hi Everyone! Buying products Made in the USA is like penance after shopping at just about every other retailer.

After the comments, I received with this post I decided to make a bigger commitment on Everyday Edits to share American-made products.

After I read this article about Walmart’s new initiative I decided to make a commitment to showcase Made in USA products.

So when I  found this garden hook at a local garden store made by American Gardenworks I knew this was the beginning of something new here at Everyday Edits.

MADE IN THE USA MONDAYS

Earlier this summer I was at a popular garden center in Highlands Ranch. I was searching for a closing gift for dear clients and I stumbled on a tiny section of Made in USA products.

And I found this garden hook. I I knew my garden hooks because I had just checked them out at a big home improvement retailer and the weight was noticeably lighter. Guess what? You can buy it here.

made-in-usa-mondays-american-gardenworks

Here’s where the commitment comes into play. Made in USA products cost more. This garden hook’s weight, however, was enough for me to want to buy it.

But it’s not a substantial difference and the weight of this garden hook was what I loved about it.

The options are endless with this garden hook. I have moved it around almost daily. You can visit the American Gardenworks website for additional products. You can also order it on Amazon! Yes, I found it here.

I shared my American Gardenworks find on my Youtube channel. Please ignore that I look like a gingham-clad middle age Bo Peep.

Thanks for stopping by today! If you love an American Made brand I would love to share it on Everyday Edits.

Or join the Weekend Edit for the popular posts and finds.

HOW TO SHOP FOR MADE IN THE USA DECOR

February 18, 2021

how to shop for made in the USA decor

I don’t know why I am a little obsessed with made in the USA decor and home stuff. And  I am not sure when I started to shop for made in USA products. But behind my desk and in front of my tablet, I shop with the keywords, “Made in the USA”on most searches.

how-to-shop-usa

I don’t know the why? It just feels good to support local or brands across the country that made a commitment to make stuff here in the states.

My hope is that you will remember the Colorado girl (okay, closer to the middle-aged mom) who talked about Made in the USA products.

My second hope is maybe one of my kids will read my blog and leave a comment.

Can you help me share the message? Will you share your favorite brands in the comments?

HOW TO SHOP MADE IN THE USA

For a few years, I have sought out products made in the USA. It’s my thing and I want to encourage others to think about it too. And, online searches make it super easy.

Even this store, stuffed with products, sells products with the familiar Made in USA logo.

One of the ways I search for USA products is on Etsy.

Etsy is the Amazon of local brands and craftsmen and women. It is filled with creative minds and cool things you never knew you needed.

Until you found it on Etsy.

I found this sturdy blanket ladder on Etsy. With my choice of stain, it transitioned into our home seamlessly. And with a year filled with Netflix and loungewear, this ladder definitely kept busy.

PILLOWS

I ordered these Made in the USA pillows on Amazon. A few years ago Santa brought us these fancy pillows and overtime I could see what looked like the foam padding under a twenty-year-old carpet.

You cannot unsee that pillow stuffing.

MORE PILLOWS

Did I pay a little more for the pillows or the pillow covers? Maybe.

Etsy has pillows and pillow covers too like this cute Spring pillow.

COOKIE CUTTERS

Did you know there is a USA cookie-cutter company? I didn’t either until I made this hedgehog cookie recipe and I found these adorable cookie cutters.

MADE IN USA BRANDS

Do I feel good that somewhere in a rural town (with cheaper rent & lower cost of living) there is a US-based factory making down pillows or paintbrushes?

Absolutely.

Go check your stash of paintbrushes.

shop-made-in-USA

If your paintbrush says either Purdy or Wooster you have a Made in the USA paintbrush. And, yes they cost $1.69 more than the paintbrushes that arrive via a shipping crate.

The more USA-built brands we buy the more manufacturers will take notice.

Sidenote: This is not mean to be a soapbox lecture. My Grammarly is telling me I am shouting! I just want to support small business operations based here.

Last year, Santa brought me and the kids cast iron skillets from this company. This particular one is from Williams-Sonoma. Santa likes Williams-Sonoma for their curbside pickup.

made-in-USA-brands

We have had so much fun with our skillets making cookie desserts, pizzas and this new favorite side dish.

I like to think the spirit of the Made in the USA carried us through our extended staycations.

My husband surprised me with this gift for my birthday. If you know Elliott from my Instagram.. you will appreciate this gift.

I love, love, love this print. My husband even had it framed before he surprised me with it. It is the first thing we see when anyone enters from the garage entry. It is on that back wall. I think Elliott needs some lights over his framed print.

Did you know you can buy custom cabinet fronts from Etsy? My husband has ordered multiple sets of unfinished cabinet fronts from this company. He went ahead and set up his own Etsy shop. It was easier than me finding and sharing my login and password.

We ordered cabinet fronts for the center built-ins for this space from Etsy. Stay tuned for the before and afters.

Please share your favorite brands that are made in the USA and I will include them (and you) in a future blog post!

Need to know how to clean down pillows? I got you covered here.
