a page dedicated to those frequently asked questions from my sister and readers
Hi everyone! Welcome to Everyday Edits. Just like me, this site is a work in progress. I would love for you to follow online as I build my blog and myself. I created a F.A.Q. page for those questions that come from my most loyal followers (my sister).
WHY DID YOU CHANGE YOUR BLOG NAME
HOW DO YOU BALANCE THE DEMANDS OF REAL ESTATE & HOME BLOGGER
I think being both a Realtor and home blogger satisfies both sides of my brain. Some weeks are a bit crazy, but I love both roles and I just make it work on the calendar.
I was featured in Denver where I had the chance to share my story.
DOES YOUR FAMILY READ YOUR BLOG?
My husband is my biggest supporter and then it drops off with my three college-age kids (okay, my oldest is just out of college.
My husband loves to provide technical details on some of the DIY projects.
I don’t think my kids follow my blog, but they do share my Instagram, or is it the gram, with their friends.
My sister is my biggest fan. If you read a funny comment under comments it is usually from Tricia. She is known at our house as Auntie Tricia. If you have a sister you know you can spend 45 minutes talking about your latest finds.
WHY DO YOU NEVER FOLLOW A RECIPE?
This question comes directly from my twin sister separated by a few years.
FUN FACT ABOUT YOU
Oh, this is a good one. It’s actually a tw0-fer. Are you ready? I have shared this with maybe three people and they are all my relatives.
I lived in a trailer in the first year of my life.
Oh, it gets better … and I was in a tornado in a trailer during that first year. Yep, in Southern Illinois. My dad was in graduate school in St. Louis and my mom was a hospital-based nurse. My mom was working when my babysitter’s (next-door) trailer was hit by a tornado. I was sent to the hospital for observation and my mom’s version is when she heard me crying she knew I was okay. Apparently, I was hungry!
If you have a mom or dad, who is a nurse, my mom’s measured reaction and diagnosis will not surprise you.
My trailer park upbringing might.
My husband did not believe either story until I produced a tiny newspaper clip my mom included in my baby book to document the event.
Most of my friends have never heard this story. My sister thought my blog rebrand should be trailer park to a trophy wife. As you will see my sister and kids are present in some way in every blog post.
WHY DO YOU REFER TO YOUR HOUSE AS A BROWNSTONE IN THE SUBURBS?
Our home is south of the Denver-metro area. Our house has five levels from the basement to the loft/kids’ bedrooms. I love my house! And even though we could sell our house for quite a bit more money this year (with everyone moving from NYC and San Francisco) I am not done with my brownstone in the suburbs.
With so many steps it was a huge accomplishment when we finished this DIY project.
