SWEET & SALTY CHEX SNACK MIX
Where are you on the sweet versus salt debate? The question makes a great icebreaker in an awkward social setting. I prefer sweet over salty so this Chex snack mix has equal parts sweet and salty. It is a neutral snack.
This sweet and salty Chex mix is perfect for a mid-day treat.
What I like about a snack mix is it can be an easy way to control portions. The base for this sweet and salty snack includes air-popped popcorn and Rice Chex cereal. Kroger’s brand, Rice Bitz works too.
This mix has a list of ingredients that can be switched out or adjusted based on your taste. I used Costco’s air-popped popcorn (the big red bag) for this recipe.

This is a great recipe to clean out the baking cabinet after the holidays. I found two tablespoons of milk chocolate chips left over from the holidays.

If you have leftover red and green M&M’s you can use the red ones for a Valentine’s theme snack and the greens would be fun for a St. Patrick’s Day snack mix.

I made a test batch and left it on the counter. My husband snacked on it during the day. It satisfies a sweet tooth and those mid-day hangry moments.

I purchased these ceramic popcorn bowls. I love them and the smaller bowls make a great gift for the popcorn lover.
