CHECK OUT MY BLUE AND GREEN DECOR

I love blue and green decor pairings! They work year-round and are fresh. My love for blue and green decor grew from my previous Tuscany-inspired decor.

If you were a homeowner/renter in 2005-2012 chances are you had Tuscany-inspired paint colors of golds and browns or faux-painted finishes. Looking back, the decor was heavy. Maybe, it was the bitter feelings homeowners felt during the housing crisis from 2007 to 2010 (real estate life). It was our way to escape to Tuscany via Italian-inspired throw rugs and pillows.

This was our family room during that time. It hurts my eyes now, but at the time this was the thing. Who had iron wall decor and shades of brown? I don’t see blue or green in this room.

Even the faux Aspen is gold and yellow.

And now? It is time to embrace a new color palette with Revere Pewter and Hale Navy (in my most popular post.

With lighter walls, I embraced blue and green to lighten the mood and they look great year-round. love the bright, clean look of the navy and green contrast.

I added Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore to add a dark and stormy vibe to the dining room and my home office.

SIMPLE WAYS TO ADD BLUE AND GREEN TO THE DECOR

It turns out I already was onto the blue/green pairings. My camera’s lens caught the contrast of the navy kitchen curtains and the green daffodil stems.

My obsession took me to three Homegoods stores and the sale tab on Pottery Barn’s site. My goal was to find shades of blue and green accessories to complement my walls and furniture.

THRIFTY DECOR

My stash of fun bottles and jars was where I found fun navy and green accessories. I held onto this Trader Joe Ginger Beer bottle from the holidays.

My family didn’t love Ginger beer, but I loved the bottle. The bottle’s opening has become my dime jar. Why dimes? It’s the only coin that fits through the bottle’s opening.

Don’t overthink an up-cycle opportunity.

This Trader Joe’s bottle was in my recycle bin for months and it found a home on a shelf in my home office.
