I want to live in a world with brown paper bags and corrugated cardboard produce cartons. So when I found these adorable reusable paper bags online at Anthropologie it was love at first sight. I was in love and apparently everyone else was too. These reusable paper bags were sold out before I clicked on the image.
I was in denial that these reusable paper bags were really, truly sold out. So I continued to check inventory every few days. I found a few options on Etsy, but they were pricey. So with plenty of free time this spring I created a simple reusable paper bag hack.

I made a few mistakes using different types of bags and textures. In the end I used the classic brown paper bag.

Simple Reusable Paper Bag Hack

Supply List
In the end, this reusable paper bag hack included two supplies. The best part was I had both in my craft area (aka unfinished basement).
- Mod Podge
- Paper Bags
- Plastic tub or container tote to hold Mod Podge

What I loved about this paperback hack was it was as simple as painting a brown paper bag with Mod Podge or a watery version of glue.
The second best part of this hack was the Mod Podge was forgiving, making it pretty much impossible to screw up this paper bag hack.

The weight of the brown paper bag was light so it was easy to fold and scrunch and shape. And, brown paper bags are sturdy by nature.

This reusable paper bag hack was a fun project. If you subscribe to Everyday Edits you know I love to share eco-friendly ideas. I stored a few herbs in the three reusable bags I made. What do you think! If you are looking for more fun one-hour projects here a few favorites.
