Planes, Trains, and Uber Eats

Happy Weekending! We were home for a hot minute, and now the birthday boy and I are in Vail for a wedding. Happy June! I apologize in advance for the typos or runaway thoughts.

When a friend asked what I planned to wear to the wedding, I responded with a form-fitting dress. I brought home a few pounds of Guiness and Gelato. And the 9:40 pm Uber Eats orders for Krispy Kreme donuts in Edinburgh. A well-deserved treat after logging thousands of steps between us during our ten-day trip.

Yes, nothing says we are Americans than Krispy Kreme donuts delivered to our Airbnb. Oh, wait …

earlier that night we ate at a restaurant called Mama’s American Pizza. It was the perfect meal as we closed out our Europe trip. We dined al fresco with umbrellas for the light patter of rain and enjoyed Coor’s Lights and red wine. It was a favorite meal after a week of travel.

And Krispy Kreme donuts are amazing especially with our family with us to inhale the glaze and sprinkle confections.

The jet lag was a challenge and I don’t recommend a legal update real estate class the day after a ten-hour flight.

I treated myself to a pedicure after we collectively logged over 70,000 steps on cobblestone streets in Dublin, Edinburgh, and London.

We walked everywhere and the city had hills at every turn.

I will share a few pics and tips in the weeks ahead.

DUBLINE TOURISTS AFTER THE GUINESS TOUR!

My husband found these travel neck pillows. I could not wear it without thinking of Mrs. Tischel from the British series Doc Martin.

By the end of our trip, my youngest (okay all of my adulting kids) told me I had used my word allotment for May and I either had to stop talking or borrow against June’s word allotment.

Thankfully I figured out the wifi before we took off because this was the response I got when I tried to tap into my son’s hotspot in row 32.

We had an amazing trip and our new SIL fits seamlessly into our family. He is the older brother for my boys. To see Dan and our daughter interact and the way he makes her smile and giggle made my heart swell. Plenty of laughs and a few sprints to catch the train in Edinburgh to London were handled with humor and patience.

QUESTION:

What plans do you have for the summer?

A FERN IN AN OLIVE BASKET ON THE FIREPLACE HEARTH

Still a favorite at our house. The key to a summer drink is fresh mint. If you have a great summer drink please share! I need a few new ones!

    1. The link to the ferns was hysterical! Crazy thing is I was trying to fiugre out if I could keep one alive in the study, since every other plant has revolted. (BTWI thought the fern on everything ‘Down undah’ was a different kind of plant. LOL)
