NEW USES FOR HOME DEPOT BUCKETS

My husband’s idea of a perfect weekend includes a trip to Home Depot, followed by a trip to a record ( vinyl) shop.

I know.

Apparently, it is a similar euphoric reaction often compared to a quick trip to HomeGoods.

Home Depot is the only store where you can buy a $1.99 bucket to haul your items to the car.

It’s a genius idea because a 5-gallon plastic bucket is not going to split in half in the parking lot.

The bright orange bucket is perfect for Home Depot’s marketing efforts and its familiar theme song (now on Instagram).

Over the years, we have amassed several of the bright orange buckets.

Because just like reusable bags, we always forget the bucket on the day we buy 49 outlet covers for the Gramptons.

The height of the bucket makes for a list of alternative uses. They don’t tip over like an everyday bucket. The weight and height make them incredibly useful for everyday items.

I use the bucket for my seasonal floral stems. The heavy plastic and height prevent the stems from tipping over in our basement.

2. In a pinch for a small tree stand? Grab a Home Depot bucket! The built-in handle makes it easy to pop a tree into the bucket, cover it with burlap or a tree skirt, and you have a free-standing Christmas tree.

I spray-painted the exterior bucket white.

The familiar orange bucket looks better with a coat of white paint for a Christmas tree stand or for storage.

Traeger Pellets.

My husband loves his Traeger.

I am not a fan of the bags tilting and spilling onto the patio.

I added an orange bucket as a subtle reminder.

For frequent purchases and returns. I added a “Return” label to the outside of an orange Depot bucket to remind my husband that Home Depot accepts returns.

The return bucket makes for a gentle reminder (when placed next to the driver’s side of the car) to get store credit for returns.
