LOOK AT THIS VINTAGE BOOKSHELF FOR FALL
I am so excited to share this newly acquired, vintage bookshelf for fall.
Do you remember this mid-century handmade bookcase my parents gave me a few years ago? It was on its way to Goodwill until I decided this Mid-century modern handmade (by my maternal grandfather) had to stay in the family.
This handmade bookcase has rooms to explore and holidays to celebrate in its new home. Please take a look at this vintage, handmade piece of furniture. This bookshelf is ready for its first fall season in our brownstone in the suburbs.
VINTAGE HANDMADE FURNITURE PIECE
Every year I tell myself I am not going to buy any more pumpkins. And then along comes a vintage bookcase that wants to celebrate every holiday.
PUMPKINS
I decided to decorate the bookshelf with pumpkins. Over the past few years, I purchased faux pumpkins because the squirrels treated my front porch like a Taco Bell drive-thru after midnight.
IDEAS
For this fall theme bookcase, I used blue, white and orange pumpkins.
And every other day I would mix it up tweaking the blue-painted candle holders or adding this faux plant off to the side.
The plant added a little greenery against the wood grain bookcase. It was positioned between the bookcase and the couch.
And then I switched it to the other side of the bookcase. Because that is what Virgo’s do with three minutes before starting (ordering takeout) dinner.
I love to add greenery to bold colors.
Over the next few evenings I tweaked my bookcase.
Every few days I made tweaks. I added a white dish to add a little contrast to the rows of pumpkins!

Decorating a bookcase or a shelf is a fun way to get out of your routine for fall pumpkins and gourds.
For all of you condo or apartment dwellers, you could do something similar with a window ledge or a shelf. Just add pumpkins and repeat!
Finally, I remind myself with thoughts of less is more. Do you tell yourself this? And then I tell myself to forget that I love home decor and diy projects and pumpkins (especially when I find a few of those heavy pumpkins on clearance at Marshalls or Homegoods!
