HALLOWEEN ON A TIERED TRAY

Hi Everyone! I am excited to get a head start on Halloween by joining my friend Carol at BlueSky at Home and a few popular bloggers for Halloween fun! I had fun with this Halloween-tiered tray.

If you are stopping by from Mary Jo’s blog Masterpieces of My Life …. welcome to Everyday Edits.

TIERED TRAY

I love a tiered tray because it adds vertical decor versus a centerpiece that spreads across the dining room table.

A multilevel tray draws the eye up without taking up a huge footprint on the table.

Decorating can be compared to decorating your first apartment. The best trays are filled with something old, new, and repurposed. I prefer to find orange and black objects to fill my tiered tray. My tray is a combination of repurposed jars and black and orange items.

I love the idea of a stacked tray resembling a penthouse with orange and black Halloween-themed tiered tray bundles like these.

SHOP MY HOUSE

I love the look of the Etsy tiered tray bundles. They are Instagram-worthy. But I think it is more fun to scrounge through my cabinets and drawers for orange and black theme items. I store my holiday “bundles” in clear bins (with lids) so I can mix and match colors of random bitty bundle finds.

SPRAY PAINT

Over the years I have purchased a rainbow of Rustoleum paint. Spray paint is a fun medium to use on glass jars. I have shared fun repurposed projects like this one and this one on the blog.

CLEARANCE

I am not very crafty but occasionally I like to take a quick run around Michaels or Hobby Lobby. And of course, there is always a dollar store. I found this Halloween-inspired bundle on Amazon.

Here is a combination of the above ideas for my Halloween-tiered tray. I have a little black book (literally) that I add to my tiered tray.

TIPS

Don’t be afraid to stuff the tray with goodies! A tiered tray is a great way to create a treasure hunt of black and orange (and bright green and purple) minis to add to your tray.

STOCK PAPER

I love to buy a few sheets of printed card stock with a holiday or seasonal pattern.

Look what I did with a few empty paint cans on the front porch. I did something similar with orange votive candles in clearance at Homegoods last year.

I added black and white theme bowls to the tray! The coffee mugs against the mini trees are a fun contrast to break up the color patterns. What do you think?

Tiered trays are limited only by your imagination. I love a stuffed tray filled with little bitty bundles and random items from your house! The best finds are the unexpected ones.
