It was time to clean my junk drawer when these scissors got stuck, making it nearly impossible to grab one of a dozen lip balms I keep in the kitchen drawer

I nearly broke the kitchen drawer trying to dislodge the scissors trapped between my favorite readers and a roll of Scotch tape.
Today is about taking ten minutes to clean your junk drawer.
If there is a universal truth for homeowners and/or renters – we all have a junk drawer.

- 1 tissue remaining in the travel-friendly plastic package
- three soft cloth cleaners for eyewear
- bOlts from DIY furniture assembly
- Staples- ( I no longer own a stapler.
- Here is how I stopped the junk drawer madness.
TIPS TO CLEAN THE JUNK DRAWER
TIPS:
- Set the timer. It will minimize your time deciding whether to save or toss the 1/8″ of the Elmer’s glue stick.
- Empty the drawer.
- Toss anything you have not used within the year.
- Collect the school-related supplies and donate.
- If you have two plastic rulers, keep one and donate the other.
- Create three piles: save, relocate, toss.
- Within your piles, decide where the random items are headed: garage, pstairs, drawer, etc.
I have a dozen hair ties in my most popular drawer. I returned all but two to my bathroom.
After you have sorted and tossed, it is time to clean your drawer.
CLEAN THE DRAWER
- lean the cabinet drawer.
- Wet Wipes or a damp paper towel with a toothpick will remove the crumbs from the corners of the drawers.

With a clean drawer, it is time to start with a clean slate.
I bought this grey, non-adhesive liner to line my cabinets and drawers.
It adds a layer of protection to my drawers.

For my refrigerator I prefer this clear, non-adhesive liner.
