HOW TO MAKE A SIMPLE DRINK STATION
Growing up my mom’s idea of a drink station consisted of an ice bucket, and 2-liter soda bottles on an aluminum tv dinner tray. Drink stations are a thing and they show up for all the holidays and backyard bbq’s. Now that my kids are sorta out of the house I have time to create a drink station worthy of a Hallmark movie.
Everything I used I found from Kroger, Sprouts, or Trader Joe’s. I found the hot cocoa mix in a jar at Homegoods.
Tip: Homegoods have great seasonal foodie finds for less.
HOW TO CREATE A DRINK STATION
This is where a bar cart would be really fun! But if you don’t have plans for a bar cart (I have my eye on this one from Target) do this:
- clear a corner in your kitchen for the holidays
- yes, you may have to move the toaster but it will be so fun to have a dedicated drink station for friends, nieces, cousins, neighbors, and family.
- if you have a mug tree add your own mugs. My friend had these Crate & Barrel coffee cups when she hosted my daughter’s bridal shower this summer.
- I love holiday-themed disposable/re-use coffee cups.
- apple cider and hot chocolate for the underage crowd.
ADD-ONS
It’s fun to have an assortment of hot chocolate accouterments.
- marshmallows
- candy canes
- red hots
SIGNATURE COCKTAILS
- Cranberries
- Rosemary sprigs
- Lemons, Limes, Orange Slices
- Sugars for the glass
- Ice bucket
