STEPS TO CLEAN GLASS JARS

  • Freeze the jars
  • Freezing jars allows you to remove the wax residue in larger sections.
  • Remove the glass jars from the freezer and add hot water (not boiling)
  • The hot water softens any remaining candle wax residue.
  • A knife in one hand and a a frozen candle jar in the other could mean trouble.
  • Finish with a little soapy water to remove any grime or scorch marks around the rim of the jar.
  • If you still have wax residue, add more warm water to soften the wax.
  • The wick usually has an adhesive back that may need warmer water.
  • For an entire month, my freezer had a 1/2 dozen candle jars.
