HAVE YOU TRIED DATE SNICKERS?
Have you tried this date snickers recipe?
I was skeptical when my East Coast friend Heather shared her Snickers Bark recipe.
I could not wrap my head around Medjool dates and a Snickers bar.
The first thing I did was Google Medjool. I know. Those who read Everyday Edits are not surprised I had to Google an ingredient.

I was curious because I had seen the recipe online, and Snickers are my favorite candy to hand out (eat) on Halloween.
I am all in if there is a way to enjoy a Snickers with fewer calories or less sugar.
And the Medjool dates make it a little healthier, right?

The hardest part was finding the Medjool pitted dates. They are in the produce section but not at eye level. Look down.
I had the peanut butter, chocolate chips, and peanuts in my pantry.

INGREDIENTS FOR SNICKER BAR KNOCKOFF
- Medjule dates (pitted), I used the entire container.
- 2-3 TBSP of creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips ( I used a mix of semi-sweet & milk chocolate)
- 1/4 cup peanuts (chopped).

DIRECTIONS
- With a knife, cut the Medjool dates in half.
- 2. Line a baking sheet with wax, parchment paper, or aluminum foil.
3. Place the dates on the baking sheet or platter
3. Gently flatten them with a rolling pin or an oversized spoon.
4. Melt the peanut butter for 20 seconds (approximately)
5. Drizzle the melted peanut butter over the dates
6. Next, melt the chocolate chips in the microwave and drizzle over the peanut butter.
7. Sprinkle with chopped peanuts and let the dates, peanut butter, chocolate, and peanuts set.

RECIPE NOTES
For this recipe, you must suspend your memories of a Snickers bar and focus on the chocolate, peanut butter, and peanuts on top of a Medjool date.
A word of caution: The knockoff does not have a Snickers Bar’s creamy, smooth chocolate texture.
Instead, it resembles the texture of an oak tree, which explains Heather’s Snicker’s Bark versus Bar.
Storage
I stored my Date Snickers in a food-safe glass container.
These keep well and make for a yummy chocolate and peanut butter combo.
I found a spoon was a sticky-free way to have an afternoon snack!

Thank you, Heather, for a yummy recipe! Please share or pin to your Pinterest boards!

Yes and they are the best. I make them a little different.. but they are so freaking good.
This cracked me up! I’m so glad you like them. Thank you for the shout out!! I need to make another batch. I don’t always find pitted dates, it take a little longer to pit them all but is still worth it! Happy MDW! I need to make another batch for this weekend.
