One of my goals is to shop for more Made in the USA items. I am not over the top with my search for Made in USA products because let’s face it, I love to shop big box stores. However, I do love to find a few retailers that carry Made in the USA brands. And that search is how I found my way to my handmade farmhouse wood blanket ladder find. We met the other day when I swept right!
I was seconds away from clicking the “order now” button for a blanket ladder in my Wayfair shopping cart. I had these ladders on my watch list for a while so I felt good about my pending purchase.
But for some reason, I had this very, very, very last, last-second thought to check Etsy.
And, a few clicks and backspaces and auto-corrects later I found The Timbered Two on Etsy. I think I searched “blanket ladders or “made in USA.”
This South Carolina based, family-owned company, makes Made in the USA wood blanket ladders. They were perfect for my industrial but casual brownstone in the suburbs home.
The Timbered Two shop offered a choice of stain and height. I went with the tallest option. Because of the larger size, I had visions of my blanket ladder arriving in two separate pieces. Instead, the wood ladder arrived in one piece (no Ikea assembly) and the Jacobean stain scent lingered in the dry air here in Colorado.
I love the smell of a freshly stained piece.
We have Jacobean on most of our stain projects so I knew what to expect with this particular stain. If you are not familiar with this stain, back up a sentence and click the project link.
The wood ladder looks like it was born and raised in our Rocky Mountains.
I loved finding an Etsy shop for my blanket ladder because it was everything that I knew an online national retailer could not deliver. It was handmade and crafted across the country. The ladder was sturdier than I expected. I am so happy with this find!
It was my very own custom, handmade farmhouse blanket ladder. My handmade wood ladder traveled the roads and highways to its final leg of the journey on I-25 South.
It arrived on my front porch in perfect condition in a 6 1/2 foot box. I kept my family guessing until I had time to haul it into the family room.
Tip: The key to a successful online purchase is to always have a Plan B.
I knew if the blanket ladder did not work in the family room I could use it in our recently updated basement (photos someday).
As a Realtor, I always have a Plan B, a counter, and a Plan C.
We also call these skills maternal instincts.
I love, love, love my new blanket ladder. It gives me the flexibility to move it upstairs or downstairs. Because you know what? The blanket season is just around the corner.
If interested, please check out Alysa from the Timbered Two. Their blanket ladders are reasonably priced.
