EASY IDEAS TO REPURPOSE PAPER BAGS
If you are a frequent visitor to Everyday Edits, you know I love a repurpose project. I inherited the repurpose gene from my parents.
I am married to a man who routinely commingles paper and plastic.
When our Kroger transitioned back to paper bags, I could not toss these thick, brown paper bags. They were like a gift with a ten-cent purchase.
My goal is to fit everything into my reusable bags. But sometimes I need a brown paper bag with handles.
IDEAS TO REPURPOSE PAPER BAGS
The first idea is the most popular, but a paper bag in the kitchen trash bin did not seem worthy enough for the heavyweight brown bags. Take a look at the list and email or comment with how you use these bags!
1. Line the kitchen trash can. Simple and effective.
2. Create a seasonal book stack of books covered in brown paper. Add a pumpkin for the season.
3. Line the counter with a brown paper bag for food prep. I do this with my Costco chicken!
4. Create a disposable placemat. Add crayons or sidewalk chalk for the kids’ table (and adults).
5. I like to add brown paper bags to an outdoor table to catch the mustard and catsup spills before they land on my favorite type of tablecloth.
- Casual place setting for casual dinners or dinner on the patio! I toss the trash into the bag for easy clean up!
- 6. I add my extra Kroger, King Sooper, and City Market brown bags under Elliott’s water dish. Somehow, our little Berner finds every possible way to spill his water dish.
- Paper bags are an easy way to absorb small spills.
8. I use paper bags when I touch up baseboards and trim. The bag’s edge lines next to the baseboard, and the bag is heavy enough that a dollop of paint will not soak through the bag.
