When I need a break, I like to shop Etsy!
That is how I discovered Etsy has a niche for DIY design plans ( or carpentry designs).
). I was searching for a pergola.
A custom pergola with instructions.
Whenever I suggest a “fun” diy project, my first husband asks for a photo.
He needs a photo to deconstruct my word salad details and descriptions.
That is how he built this custom library wall.
We added custom cabinet doors from this shop on Etsy.
When the dimensions were slightly off the Etsy seller resent a modified cabinet.
It is like working with Mr. Hanson in Walnut Grove.
So while drooling over DIY pergolas, I explored my options.
ETSY DESIGN PLANS & TIPS
TIPS: 1. Review the Etsy listing and specifics.
2. If the directions sound like a word problem, screenshot the description and email the plans l to your contractor.
3. Home Depot was a huge help for me when I built my Pottery Barn-inspired mantel.
I made this by myself with the help of a Home Depot employee. The only thing he asked for was a photo of my Pottery Barn DIY mantle.
It was my first DIY that involved power tools.
Legit power tools.
I love Etsy for their custom napkins and signage, but the design plans on Etsy are a game changer!
