Many of us know your home improvement store for their paint department, garden pots and this inflatable, snowman.
But this home improvement store taught me how to build things. It is where this DIy girl’s dream comes true One of my first DIY projects was a Pottery Barn mantel knockoff.
I made it with the help of a Home Depot employee in the lumber department. As long as he had a photo he said he could help me build it.
Over the next two weeks, he taught me how to measure and add trim. He taught me how to build a box.
His enthusiasm matched mine for my first mantel. .He treated me like a tradesperson in flip-flops and a baseball cap.
At the time, I didn’t know how to lock in a drill bit on a Ryobi drill (reverse the drill’s direction).
Or the power of a palm sander (saves your manicure).
Or how to change a furnace filter (it is as easy as removing the lint from the dryer).
Have you been in the back of the store in a center aisle for the kids’ DIY workshops? It brings back so many memories of our daughter tagging along with her dad to Home Depot! She almost always wore her denim overalls.

When we removed this half wall, an architect introduced us to the Home Depot services. She suggested we contact Home Depot to confirm the mechanics, behind a wall. Home Depot contractors drilled up to five holes, which meant no surprises when we removed the wall.

If you cannot pick an interior paint color, ask the Home Depot paint department manager for the most popular interior paint color (based on sales). It is how I chose these two interior paint colors.
