The rental market in Denver is crazy! Soaring home prices have pushed many first time home buyers back into or in a holding pattern in the rental market. The good news is rental properties offer flexibility and no long term commitments. But, similar to college dorm rooms, the lack of permanence limits decor ideas. Who wants to spend money on a short term commitment?
I suggest to renters (my potential home buyers) that in the interim between living rent-free at the “rents” and purchasing a home, they borrow rental decor ideas from their dorm room days.

Inexpensive framed posters, cards and these types of lightweight wall prints are an easy way to add personality to a space that is owned by someone else. Framing or hanging local paper bags can add a little character and frame the memory!
I shared these fun city prints here.
To add color to my daughter’s rental I covered really cheap cork board frames with fabric. Walmart has cheap bulletin boards and fabric! And, cork is lightweight making them easy to attach to a wall with adhesive strips.
A string of lights is a great way to add light to a bedroom, patio or the 3×5 size deck. Lighting always warms up a space. Just check HOA rules to make sure your lights are not twinkling red and green in May.
