ARE YOU READY FOR SPRING TABLETOPS?
We got a glimpse of spring in Colorado this weekend, and in less than a minute, I pivoted from winter decor to spring tabletops. This is from the girl who kept her tree up (minus the ornaments) until the end of January!
Tabletops or centerpieces are a blank slate for a new season. And like a new season, tabletops or centerpieces work for any and all spaces.
Creative arrangements or vignettes brighten any room or shelf in minutes. And the best part is they are budget-friendly- because you can shop your house or the clearance section of Homegoods or online retailers for ideas!
TABLETOPS WORK IN ALL INTERIOR SPACES
- dining room
- entry tables
- kitchen tables or an island
- anything with a flat surface works
Seriously, you could create a spring arrangement for your bathroom! I have seen crazier things in sellers’ bathrooms!
Tablescapes in front of windows (windowscapes) provide faux greenery this time of year. The added bonus is privacy.
Short on creativity or time, add candles stacked on books with a little floral pot at Kroger that will set you back a few dollars!
Never miss an opportunity to brighten your day or space or both!
TABLETOP TIPS
Tabletops, a collection of accessories. work best:
- Use an odd number of objects to prevent a matchy-matchy look.
- Height: Add objects of different heights and scales (I struggle with this one).
The lamp is too tall with the tulips. I didn’t realize it until I reviewed the photo.

I used diy wood chargers for this spring tabletop to prop up the plant.
Books and chargers are a way to prop up objects. It prevents having three or five objects of the same height.
Here are some ideas I picked up online from popular home retailers and a few of my favorites in my home.
SPRING TABLETOP IDEAS
These ideas are meant to jumpstart your spring decor.
Candles
You can never go wrong with a collection of candles (real or faux). They work with all seasons and holidays.
Or maybe use the pillars and add oversized speckled eggs to the candle pillars.
This online image is from Pottery Barn. It includes the trifecta of accessories:
lamp, wall print, and or mirrors.
In this display, I the book in between the stems and lamp makes it a little busy. The book is so small against the larger accessories.
Like wood chargers, I use books to prop up accessories.
I use one of my favorite books, The Help, to prop up a candle on my dad’s childhood dresser.
OVERSIZEDPLANTS + STEMS
I love oversized branches and s) and greenery stems for arrangements.
Seriously, love.
Tall stems add height and width to fill the space without adding clutter.
The oversized stems are from Hobby Lobby (on sale every other week; you just need to coordinate the right week.
MIRRORS + PRINTS
I switch out mirrors and prints. t I have found inexpensive canvas seasonal prints online- just Google canvas prints and you will find plenty of seasonal options! These are great to hang on the wall with a display below it.
TIP
Visualize a frame around your centerpiece or vignette. It reigns it in when you find you added too much to the centerpiece or arrangement. .
I copied this entry tabletop idea from a Pinterest image. It was a vignette with a spring garden theme.
I wanted to like it, but it was too busy for the entry.
The moss balls and clay pots competed with the Amazon returns.
However, it was fun to copy an image on Pinterest.
Pottery Barn had the same idea with the image from their website below. I love the oversized candle, and those stems.
In this image from Frontgate, the plant is a great way to add a pop of green against a dresser vignette. It breaks up the wood. My sister uses plants to break up the wood furniture and floors. It softens the space.
