THE WEEKEND EDIT THEN + NOW
Happy Weekending! Greetings from New York City. My husband and I are visiting our youngest son. Evan moved to Manhattan in June. We have a long weekend with him.
Evan is near Little Italy between Canal and Broadway. He has a “park” view from his four-story building. He met us for drinks at our Hotel. We are staying in SoHo at a boutique hotel called SoMo. I know.
We had pasta at Empiro.
While Evan worked on Friday. Our homework assignment was to figure out the subway system. We crushed it on the first attempt. We celebrated with breakfast at SaraBeth’s across from Central Park. Then, on a whim, we decided to tour the Museum of Natural History.
We may have been too confident on the return ride to our hotel. We overshot the stop when we realized the subway switches to “an express lane” in the late afternoons.
We are seeing a Broadway show called Stereophonic. My vote for Chorus Line or Madam Rouge was outvoted. Evan has been to the city several times- most recently last Thanksgiving. I think I knew then he would be in Manhattan now.

Our daughter and SIL are house-sitting and watching Elliott. Their 70-pound puppy loves staying at Camp Castle Pines. He has his backpack with his favorite toys. We love to watch him pounce on leaves and do somersaults in the backyard. If you have lived or visited NYC please leave me suggestions for future visits.
QUESTION: What is the last city you visited?

I hope you had a blast with Evan! I agree about the High Line and Chelsea Market. Bronx Zoo is amazing but not as easy to get to.
Enjoy NYC!
We were in Nathrop recently to enjoy the Mt Princeton Hot Springs, It was part of our 50th-anniversary celebration.
That’s wonderful. I love the city. Every season is different. Sarabeth’s is great. We like The Smith as well. And you must check out the High Line park next time.. it’s my favorite as well as the hand pulled noodles in Chelsea Market.
I love the pic of Evan! But is that NYC or Dayton?!?!
I’m wondering if having Rod helped at all with navigating the train system? Just a thought.
Have a great time! Last state: ME
NYC! Central Park !
Have a wonderful weekend in NYC. I think it’s been 15 years since we were last there. The last city we were in was London, two weeks ago. Fabulous city and it is so big! Never rode the tube, but we did ride in a taxi, a bus, and a river boat on the Thames.
